Job Description

Under the direction of the Manager/Supervisor/Lead Person, the Mechanic A maintains and repairs equipment and helps develop solutions. Also, responsible for adhering to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) that are in effect assuring the quality and quantity of product produced. Experience working in and around mechanical equipment, preferably in a food/pharmaceutical/nutriceutical environment High level of organizational skills, good written and oral communication skills Ability to work independently and meet deadlines Must be able to multi-task and follow-up when responses are needed Basic mathematical skills Must be able to respond to verbal and written instructions Physical ability to repetitively lift, stand, climb, bend, etc… within a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities


Troubleshoots, assesses and repairs most manufacturing/facilities issues in a timely manner without supervision Interprets blueprints and schematics Operates machinery such as lathes, mills, drill presses and all power and hand tools Ability to instruct lower grade mechanics Basic to advance knowledge of electrical circuits and PLC’s Complies with company policies and procedures and maintains regular work attendance Personal responsibility for following safety rules, SOPs and cGMPs guidelines Performs other duties as assigned.
